Miami Ukraine talks planned Moscow and Kyiv respond
Zelensky seeks support during Pryluky visit
Oct 8
CCTV relays Axios's October 8 report of planned October 9 Miami U.S.–Ukrainian talks involving Witkoff and Kushner, prospective energy and grain arrangements, European participation and security/recovery issues. Zelenskyy confirms the prospective two-day talks. It recalls Rubio's dangerous-stalemate warning. Peskov says Russia wants a comprehensive settlement rather than a limited truce and is discussing potential economic projects with the United States. Zelenskyy rejects the impasse description, seeks greater U.S. pressure and Starlink access over Russia, and criticizes discussion of economic projects alongside claims of stalemate. Talks and proposals are prospective; this narrated Starlink wording remains attributed.
During his October 8 visit to Pryluky after the prior day’s deadly strike, Zelensky calls for pressure on Russia and Western weapons, money and technology to restore Ukraine’s initiative. RTVE says he rejects US and European negotiation with Moscow and frames the request against continuing attacks and evacuations. These are his reported positions, not delivered aid or a completed diplomatic decision. TSN's complete October 8 Pryluky response identifies Rubio's diplomatic-impasse assessment as the question's setup. Zelenskyy rejects being cornered and urges U.S. sanctions, financial support, air defence and Starlink access to force Putin into negotiations. The presenter interprets Starlink access as over Russia, while his recorded words request it for Ukraine and invoke the Israel–Iran comparison. A negotiating-team trip to the United States at week's end remains prospective. This is the same site/date support-and-pressure appeal as RTVE's shorter retelling; their differing descriptions of negotiation are retained. The local replacement-apartment/shelter pledges and Miliband's UK sanctions package are separate occurrences.
